How much can a college club raise from a food fundraiser?
Your profit is simple: orders times margin. This page shows how to estimate it before you commit. The numbers below are an illustrative example, not a promise.
Money never touches Cornell Craves. Students pay the club directly over Venmo or Zelle, and there is no commission or fee.
The formula
Profit equals (price minus cost per item) times the number of items sold. Because you pre-sell, you know the number of items before you buy.
An illustrative example
If an item costs your club 12 dollars and you sell it for 18 dollars, the margin is 6 dollars. Selling 100 items would raise 600 dollars. Your real costs, prices and volume will differ.

Frequently asked questions
How much money can a club make from a fundraiser?
It depends on your margin and how many orders you collect. Multiply margin per item by items sold.
What is the easiest way for a Cornell club to run a food fundraiser?
Post it on Cornell Craves. A club picks a brand, sets a price and a goal, chooses pickup spots and times, and the fundraiser shows up in a live feed that every Cornell student can see. Orders are collected online and members scan a QR pass at pickup.
Does Cornell Craves take a cut of the money?
No. Students pay the club directly through Venmo or Zelle. Cornell Craves never handles or holds the money and takes no fee.
Who can use Cornell Craves?
Clubs must be legitimate Cornell student organizations. Ordering is for current Cornell students with an @cornell.edu Google account. Cornell Craves is an independent student project and is not run by Cornell University.
